Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 10, 2026
Neurobud AI LLC (“Neurobud AI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) builds a personalized AI tutoring application for students, parents, and educators. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our mobile and desktop apps (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows) and our website at neurobud.ai (together, the “Service”).
Short version: We collect the information needed to run a tutoring service — your account details, your learning profile and progress, the messages you exchange with the AI tutor, and purchase records. We do not sell your personal information. We do not serve third-party advertising. You can delete your account and associated data from within the app at any time.
1. Who This Policy Applies To
The Service supports several types of users: independent students (age 13 and older), parents who manage accounts and profiles for their children, and children under 13, who may use a limited, no-account guest mode or a parent-managed account. Different sections of this policy apply depending on which type of user you are. Children's privacy is addressed specifically in Section 8.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information: email address and authentication credentials, created through Amazon Cognito or through Sign in with Apple or Google.
- Profile and learning information: name or display name, role (student, parent), age or grade level, country, curriculum, subjects, interests, and learning preferences you enter during onboarding.
- Parent-provided child information: if you are a parent, the profiles, names, ages, grade levels, and learning preferences you set up for your children.
- AI tutoring content: the questions, messages, answers, and voice input you send to the AI tutor, and the lessons and responses generated for you.
- Support communications: information you provide when you contact us for support.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage and progress data: lessons started and completed, mastery and performance data, interaction counts, and study activity used to personalize tutoring and track progress.
- Device information: device model, operating system, app version, and language, used for compatibility and diagnostics.
- Push notification tokens: a device token used to deliver notifications, if you enable them.
- Crash and diagnostic data: error and crash reports to help us find and fix bugs.
2.3 Purchase information
When you buy a subscription or interaction pack, the purchase is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We (and our subscription provider, RevenueCat) receive a purchase receipt, transaction identifier, and subscription status. We never receive or store your full credit-card number or payment credentials — those are handled by Apple or Google.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and profiles.
- To provide AI tutoring, generate lessons, and personalize learning to your level and preferences.
- To track and display learning progress, mastery, and performance analytics.
- To process subscriptions and interaction purchases and manage your entitlements.
- To send push notifications you have enabled (such as study reminders), which you can turn off at any time.
- To keep the Service safe — including applying safety filters to AI tutoring interactions.
- To diagnose problems, improve reliability, and develop new features.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. AI Tutoring and Your Content
The AI tutor is powered by Google's Gemini models. To generate responses, the messages and questions you send to the tutor — along with relevant learning-profile context — are transmitted to Google's AI services for processing. We apply safety filters to tutoring interactions to reduce the risk of inappropriate content.
We use your tutoring content to operate and improve the personalization of the Service. We do not use it to serve advertising, and we do not sell it. Google processes this content as our service provider under its applicable terms; we do not permit our providers to use your content to train their own general-purpose models beyond what is necessary to deliver the Service.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited circumstances:
5.1 Service providers (sub-processors)
We rely on trusted third parties to operate the Service. Each processes data only as needed to provide its function:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services (Amplify, Cognito, storage, database) | Authentication, account and profile storage, learning data, backend hosting | Account, profile, progress, and app data |
| Google (Gemini AI) | Generating AI tutoring responses and lessons | Tutoring messages and learning-profile context |
| Google Firebase | Crash reporting (Crashlytics) and push notifications (FCM) | Diagnostic data and push notification tokens |
| RevenueCat | Subscription and purchase management and receipt validation | Purchase receipts, transaction IDs, and subscription status |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | Processing payments for subscriptions and purchases | Payment and transaction data (handled by Apple/Google) |
5.2 Legal and safety
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or Neurobud AI.
5.3 Business transfers
If Neurobud AI is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your associated personal data, including your profile and learning data, and remove your push notification tokens, except where we are required to retain certain records (such as transaction records) to comply with legal, accounting, or tax obligations.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and update: You can view and update your profile information within the app.
- Account deletion: You can delete your account and associated data directly from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). This action is permanent.
- Push notifications: You can disable notifications in the app or in your device settings.
- Regional rights: Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at bilal.shahid@neurobud.ai.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 for the purpose of creating independent accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
We structure access for younger users as follows:
- Independent accounts require users to be 13 or older. During sign-up, users indicate their age. Users under 13 are not permitted to create an independent cloud account.
- Guest mode for younger users. A user under 13 who does not have a parent-managed account can use a limited guest/trial mode. In guest mode we do not create a cloud account, do not require an email, do not register push notification tokens, and do not retain personal learning history in our backend.
- Parent-managed accounts. A parent may create and manage a profile for their child. In this case, the parent provides the information and consents to its collection and use for the purpose of providing tutoring to their child.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at bilal.shahid@neurobud.ai and we will delete it. Where a parent-managed account is used, the parent may review, update, or request deletion of their child's information at any time.
9. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to promptly address any issues.
10. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process and store data in the United States and other countries. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
